Following the recent updates to public health orders in NSW Housing Trust has implemented changes to its maintenance service to limit potential exposure and spread of COVID-19.
From Sunday 18 July Housing Trust will only be permitted to carry out urgent repairs in accordance with the revised public health orders.
These repairs are defined under your lease, and include:
• burst water services or serious water leaks
• blocked or broken toilets
• serious roof leaks
• gas leaks
• electrical faults
• flooding or serious flood damage
• serious storm or fire damage
• failure or breakdown of gas, electricity or water supply to a property
• failure or breakdown of hot water service, stove or oven
• a fault or damage which makes the property unsafe or insecure
• smoke alarm repairs
For urgent repairs please continue to call 4254 1166 at any time, 24 hours per day seven days per week.
For urgent repairs, our contractors will contact you before visiting your home to ask a few questions about your current health. If any member of your household is feeling unwell with flu like symptoms alternate arrangements will need to be made.
We ask that you adhere with all public health orders including wearing a mask in common areas if you live in a multi-unit dwelling. In complying with the orders, you are helping to keep you and our community as safe as possible.
Non-essential services, such as minor repairs and maintenance and grounds maintenance will be paused until such time as the public health order is lifted. We will resume our full maintenance service as soon as we are able to do so.
If a repair or maintenance work is currently underway in your property works may be progressed to ensure they are safe and secure. Any other work will be ceased until we are permitted to continue in accordance with public health orders.
If you are vacating your property and wish to hand in keys, please call 4254 1166 to make arrangements.
If you need to mail documents please send to PO Box 1, Coniston NSW 2500 or email them to info@housingtrust.org.au
Home visits by Community Housing Workers and other Site Meetings will not be undertaken until further notice.
We currently have no known cases of COVID-19 among staff, tenants or contractors but must follow the updated public health orders to ensure the health and wellbeing of our staff, tenants and your families.
Although our office is physically closed, we remain open for business. Please call or email our team Monday to Friday from 9am – 5pm.
We will continue to update you as the situation changes.
