Cadetship Program 2024

Earn while you learn

Housing Trust (HT) are proud to be taking part in the Community Industry Housing Association (CHIA) NSW Cadetship Program (year 4). This exciting program is an opportunity for successful cadets to undertake paid employment whilst gaining a qualification Certificate IV in Housing for a period of 12-months.  Cadets have the opportunity to work across the whole business to learn aspects of community housing. Places are limited, with only 25 cadetships offered throughout NSW each year until 2024.

HT is committed to this cadetship and we have employed 4 cadets over the past 3 years.

Hear from HT Cadets

Roxanne (2021 Cadet) advises anyone considering to apply for the program to “give it a go”, stating that “there is so much support to assist in you succeeding.” Roxanne is now a permanent full-time HT Property Services Officer. You can learn more about Roxanne’s journey via the video below.

Gwladys (2022 Cadet) says that she was drawn to work with HT as she was attracted to the mission of “everyone deserves a decent home, to live a healthy and fulfilling life. In the precarious and overwhelming housing landscape right now, I was attracted to the message that HT is here to help to change people’s lives”.

Sonia (2023 Cadet) says she was drawn to the Cadetship with HT as it would provide her with “hands on experience…especially assisting people who are facing homelessness and domestic and family violence to help me gain the knowledge and confidence to assist the community and tenants on a whole new level than I have previously experienced”.
